Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Olney, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Call Requirement: Up to 12 hours per week (Monday 7 PM through Friday 7 AM) plus 12 hours on weekends (Friday 7 PM – Sunday 7 PM)
• Every other holiday required
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Orientation & Training

• Weekly orientation on Mondays, ASAP start
• Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years, minimum 80% passing score
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with specific scoring criteria for lethal rhythms (if applicable to unit)

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
• I9 and E-Verify attestation required prior to start
• Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification of highest degree required by position
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Two years of employment verification within the past seven years, including at least one prior travel assignment

• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a lower rate (not applicable here)
• Facility provides scrubs
• Call shifts and holiday coverage are mandatory as described
