Pharmacist Inpatient - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Ketchikan, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Start Date: ASAP (allow up to 4 weeks for compliance processing)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Alaska
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience
- Pharmacist experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Must sign Social Security verification release
- Background check required within 60 days of start (7-year search including SSN trace, counties/states lived/worked, federal and national criminal checks)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks must be run 15 days prior to start and every 45 days thereafter
- Social Security verification required (candidates may start pending this if I-9 and eVerify are on file)
- Education verification required; transcripts or diploma acceptable if school cannot be verified
- Fingerprinting: Two FBI FD258 fingerprint cards required; traveler responsible for sending cards to Alaska DHSS and facility
- State-specific searches (e.g., WA State Patrol) required if applicable
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required (not required for non-clinical candidates)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start and updated annually (required for onsite candidates)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire required annually
- Required immunizations or documented immunity/declinations for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug testing within 30 days of start (specific panels required; marijuana testing required for Alaska and Oregon candidates)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccine religious exemption forms required if applicable
- Respiratory safety clearance required for onsite candidates, updated annually
Orientation and Training
- Must complete PeaceHealth Orientation Manual review prior to start
- Must pass Orientation Information Quiz with 100% score before starting
- Profession-specific orientation modules and tests required (Pharmacy module applies)
- Must review and comply with facility policies including:
- Dress code
- Personnel restrictions due to illness
- Masking policy (N95 fit testing onsite if providing patient care)
- Workplace violence prevention plan
- Daily responsibilities and MyTime resources
Documentation and Forms
- Passport-style photo with white or gray background for badge
- Criminal disclosure statement signed prior to start
- Demographic form due 2 Fridays prior to start
- ID badge and parking form completed prior to start
- Various vaccine declination forms if applicable (Hep B, TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Flu, COVID-19)
- Employment application and two positive professional references required
Additional Notes
- This position does not accept local candidates or first-time travelers; prior travel experience is required
- Fingerprinting and background check forms are time sensitive and must be completed promptly after offer acceptance
- Onsite fit testing and other health clearances may be arranged by the facility on a case-by-case basis
