MRI Tech Travel/Contract Job in Tampa, Florida
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 4
- Weekend Requirement: Every weekend (Friday through Sunday), 2 techs required
- Locals: Not accepted
- Block Schedule: Possible, to be discussed during interview
Required Experience and Certifications
- MRI Technologist with 2 years of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Certifications Required:
- ARRT MR (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 1 year of start date, including:
- 7-year residential/work/school history
- SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Foreign education requires a nationally recognized Foreign Equivalency Evaluation
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Photo for badge: clear, professional, solid background, no filters or cropped images
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive TB
- Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination accepted)
- Drug testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required by October 7, 2024 (mask required if declined)
- COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted
- Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%) as applicable
- Color Blindness test (Relias online) prior to start
- Competency exams as applicable to profession (score ≥ 80%)
- BayCare Online Learning Center modules must be completed prior to start (4-8 hours estimated)
- Stroke education CEUs and related certifications not required for this role (MRI Tech)
Additional Documentation
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Two professional references from the past 2 years required
- Compliance with BayCare dress code and tobacco policy
- BayCare AHCA privacy policy, affidavit, and demographic information sheet required for all candidates
This position is a travel contract for an MRI Tech with a focus on outpatient imaging, requiring weekend availability and specific certifications and clearances. Candidates must be fully compliant with Florida state licensing and BayCare-specific credentialing and training requirements.
