Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Home Health)
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Start Date: ASAP
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs; mileage reimbursed
- Local Candidates: Accepted, no local radius rule
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum of 1 year of Home Health nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Key Knowledge/Skills
- OASIS knowledge is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a home health setting
- Must adhere to attendance policy: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review/cancellation
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- South Carolina statewide search required regardless of residence/work history
- Education verification (highest level for RNs: associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree)
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit mask (N95) within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
- TB questionnaire within 3 months of start, updated annually (facility-specific form required)
- Immunizations/vaccinations or approved exemptions for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declining during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and 2 required or declination form)
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (10-panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing:
- Required for RNs on first day of orientation (EKG arrhythmia and medication dosage calculation) with two chances to pass
- Orientation:
- Safety manual acknowledgement required
- Facility-specific orientation and documentation (photo for badge, compliance checklists)
Additional Notes
- All required documents and verifications must be submitted prior to or at start
- Attendance and compliance with facility policies are strictly enforced
- Candidates will be allowed to test out of Epic system training if applicable
