Job Opportunity: Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Orlando, Florida
- Territory covers up to a 60-mile radius from the office/hub
- Local candidates accepted at travel rate
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (9:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Average patient load: 5-7 patients per day (to be confirmed during interview)
- Types of cases: Geriatric, end-of-life care
Job Description
- Role: RN Admissions with Case Management focus and Hospice experience
- EMR system used: Netsmart
- Timely documentation and communication required
- Dress code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
- Device provided: iPad (no personal cell phones allowed)
- Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate
- Flexibility with territory expected
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of hospice experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I9 or attestation form
- Background checks including 7-year history, SS trace, nationwide criminal databases, sex offender registry, and sanction databases
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- E-Verify, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 6 months prior to start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per agency guidelines
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
- Immunization requirements: Positive titers or boosters for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required annually
- COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination required
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Completion of state-mandated privacy policy, affidavit, demographic information sheet, and other facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreement, immunization statement, TB symptom survey, sexual abuse policy, code of conduct)
- Passport-style photo for badge

- On-call duties are not required
- Candidates must be flexible with travel territory
- No personal cell phones allowed during work hours; iPad provided for work use
