Description

Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • Night shift, 3 shifts per week
  • Shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
  • Variable schedule may be required, including weekends and holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) certification
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) course completion
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

  • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; standard for Labor and Delivery RN roles applies

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport) with name matching all documentation
  • I-9 or attestation form
  • E-Verify or attestation form
  • Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
    • 7-year county criminal background search for all locations lived/worked
    • Sex offender search
    • State police investigation for behavioral health (if applicable)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test (annual, can be completed onsite)
  • Negative TB test (T-Spot or Q-Gold only) within 12 months, with annual TB questionnaire if positive
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start (rapid screens not accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for all travelers)
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series and positive titer or signed facility-specific declination)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or 2 MMR vaccines; boosters required if titers low/equivocal)
    • Varicella (positive titers or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers low/equivocal)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgment and security questionnaire

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within the last 3 years
  • Candidates must complete all required competency exams within 30 days of start
  • Candidates allowed two attempts to pass competency exams; a third attempt may be allowed with client approval
  • Medication Test requires a passing score of 80% or higher
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required and must be updated annually
