Description

Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Evaluate and treat various physical therapy patients per physician’s referral or direct access.
  • Establish and supervise physical therapy assistants following a PT plan of care.
  • Evaluate and treat injured workers; understand ACOMP systems for safe Return to Work plans.
  • Utilize modalities and exercise equipment available in the facility.
  • Perform post-offer testing such as WorkSTEPS or APET.
  • Conduct Work Hardening Evaluations or Functional Capacity Evaluations.
  • Perform ergonomic evaluations or job analysis.
  • Supervise cleaning and organizational tasks, directing PT technicians.
  • Manage phone calls, schedule patient visits, and handle referrals as needed.
  • Use billing codes appropriately for various payer types.
  • Provide weekly updates to rehab nurses on patient progress.
  • Maintain communication with referring physicians through timely evaluation and progress notes.
  • Maintain all licensure requirements in good standing for the state of employment.
  • Keep employee information current for limited liability insurance coverage.
  • Maintain a professional attitude with patients, doctors, case managers, insurance representatives, and other contacts.
  • Assist marketing efforts by developing relationships with referral sources and supporting educational programs.
  • Market services to industries, doctors, case managers, and other contacts when patient load allows.
  • Participate actively in community events or organizations representing the employer.
  • Willingness to perform additional tasks outside the job description as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Arizona
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
