Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48


Job Description

  • Telemetry nursing position providing patient care on telemetry units.
  • Night shift schedule with four 12-hour shifts weekly.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 1 year telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience

  • Minimum years of experience in specialty: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for telemetry nursing.
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Pennsylvania RN license with primary source verification.
  • Required certifications as listed above must be valid and verifiable.

Health & Background Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year plus annual TB questionnaire.
  • Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1).
  • Background checks within 30 days of start including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide sex offender, and Pennsylvania statewide patch certificate.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results required prior to start.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required for all candidates.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of multiple orientation and compliance documents prior to start, including but not limited to:
    • Emergency Contact Form
    • Orientation Checklist
    • Pandemic Attestation
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Disclosure Statement
    • Employment Handbook acknowledgment
    • Various competency assessments and training modules (e.g., Skin Integrity, Mobility, Catheter Training, Cardiac Procedure Education) with required 100% quiz pass rates.
  • Photo for badge required.
  • Facility will provide first week’s schedule and additional facility-specific documentation within 48 hours of start date.

References

  • Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years of start).
  • One professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles.

Additional Notes

  • Religious and medical COVID-19 exemptions must be formally documented and signed by appropriate authorities.
  • All RN and LVN/LPN candidates on telemetry units must complete and bring competency assessment forms to orientation.
