Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a 54-bed Emergency Department designated as a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center.
- ED treats over 60,000 patients annually with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 (critical/trauma) to 1:3-4 (other patients).
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
- Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.
- Patient-facing clinical role; not remote.
- Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- SECURE certification (on site)
