Dialysis Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 7 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2-3 patients
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, rotating Saturdays and Sundays if on call
- On-Call: Yes, rotating call schedule
- Floating: No floating; must complete bedside dialysis treatments only
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital with 304 staffed beds
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: Free parking available with a pass; garages have clearance for average SUV/truck

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of nephrology experience within the last year
- Dialysis experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 90 days of start
- Includes SSN trace, county checks outside SC, SC statewide, sex offender registry, national criminal, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
- Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified; attestation letters accepted only if other verification methods exhausted
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required, including at least one from the same unit
- Employment Application: Must include all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Must be completed within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; no instant tests accepted
- Immunizations & Titers:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; low titers require boosters
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- TB Testing: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray documentation required
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records or declination form must be uploaded
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety virtual questionnaire
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Orientation: Completion of First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay modules prior to start; estimated 2-6 hours depending on location
- Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style color photo with solid light background, frontal view, cropped from shoulders up
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement: Must be completed prior to start
- Contractor Forms & Job Description: Must be completed prior to start
- NetID Form: Time-sensitive; must be completed and returned within 24-48 hours of signing contract to avoid delays
- Radiation Badge: Not required for dialysis RN role

- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
