ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Saint Marys, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
- Schedule: May float to day shifts as requested and approved
- Weekends: Required every other weekend
- Call: Not required
- Floating: May float to Medical-Surgical unit when needed
- Start Date: ASAP
- EMR System: Allscripts
- Locals Allowed: No
- Radius Restriction: 50 miles
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Background Checks
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including:
- FCRA compliant 7-year search
- SSN Trace
- Statewide and Nationwide criminal checks
- National Sex Offender Registry
- OFAC and FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks required
- HHS/OIG checks required
- Fingerprinting (BCI and FBI) within 6 months, updated annually
- Can start with results pending
- Reprint required if candidate has lived/worked outside Ohio since last fingerprinting
- Ohio BCI/FBI Fingerprint Result Attestation required annually
Health and Safety Requirements
- Pre-employment physical exam within 30 days of start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen (including THC) within 30 days of start
- Fit test for mask to be completed onsite during orientation
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tdap (within 10 years) or facility-specific declination form
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, T-Spot, or QGold) within 30 days of start
- Annual TB questionnaire and symptoms assessment if history of positive TB
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series proof, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required between October 1 and March 31 (declinations not accepted; exemptions only for medical or religious reasons with facility-specific form)
- COVID-19 vaccination:
- Fully vaccinated with 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna, or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson, OR
- Facility-specific declination or exemption accepted for medical or religious reasons
Additional Requirements
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology test
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Facility-specific documents:
- Photo for badge (headshot on white background, no hats or head coverings)
- Confidentiality statement
- Facility-specific vaccination exemption and declination forms as applicable
Notes
- Block scheduling may be discussed during interview
- Candidate must confirm completion of facility-required pre-start documentation
- No prior travel experience required for this position
