Description

Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Operating Room

Location

  • Portland, Maine

Position Type

  • Travel assignment
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Weekly hours: 48 hours
  • Weekend requirement: 1 weekend in 4, 12-hour shifts
  • Call requirement: One overnight trauma call (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM); specialty team call schedules apply for Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho

Specialty & Patient Population

  • Specialty: Operating Room, with focus on Gynecology and Genitourinary procedures
  • Patient population: Pediatrics through geriatrics
  • Level One Trauma Center environment

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of Level 1 trauma experience as a CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)
  • Competency in:
    • Robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
    • PCNLs (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy)
    • Nephrectomies
    • Ureteral Reimplants
    • Hysterectomies
    • Cystectomies
    • Colpocleisis
    • Hysteroscopies
    • Ureteroscopies

Preferred Experience

  • General surgery
  • GU/GYN
  • Orthopedic trauma and joints
  • Neurosurgery
  • ENT
  • Pediatrics
  • Plastics
  • Dental
  • Endovascular procedures

Unit Information

  • Operating Room with 26 beds
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • Equipment used: Storz, Stryker, Olympus, Intuitive Robot
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license/certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
  • Surgical Technician experience within the last year
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Experience working with geriatric patients
  • Level 1 trauma experience

Work Environment & Culture

  • Fast-paced, high-stress trauma center
  • Team-oriented, flexible, accountable, and timely professionals preferred

Dress Code

  • Teal scrubs issued by the hospital

This position is ideal for experienced CSTs seeking a challenging travel role in a Level One Trauma Center with a focus on advanced robotic and specialty surgical procedures.
