Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work on a 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke Unit caring for patients with neurological and cardiac conditions such as congestive heart failure and acute stroke.
Unit is staffed with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Collaborate closely with cardiologists and neurologists to provide expert care for complex neuro-cardiac patients.
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
Scheduled holidays as required and every other weekend.
Shift offers 36 hours per week.
Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
Parking is available.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg / Telemetry
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale certification

Additional Information

This is a patient-facing, clinical position.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, specialized unit focused on neuro-cardiac care.
