Job Description

• Position in Surgical Services as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Requires 2 years of experience in the specialty.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Washington.
• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Certifications & Training

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, STABLE certifications are not required for this role but may be relevant for other units.
• Fit testing for N95 mask will be performed onsite and must be renewed annually.
• Flu vaccination required by November 1st or a signed declination (mask required if declined).
• Drug screening required within 30 days of start (10-panel, no instant tests accepted).
• Physical exam with physician’s statement within 1 year of start.
• Tuberculosis screening (QGold or T-SPOT within 30 days of start; chest X-ray if positive).
• Immunization or titer documentation required for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Tdap vaccine or signed declination required.
• Photo for badge (headshot on plain white background).

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 10-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace, alias/name changes, statewide searches for all states lived/worked in last 10 years.
  • National criminal, sex offender, education verification.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Washington State Patrol (WSP/WATCH) search required within 30 days of start.
• Education verification required.
• Employment application and 3 recent employment references required.
• Code of Conduct acknowledgment and confidentiality agreements must be signed prior to start.
• Orientation and fit testing onsite required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete onboarding documents and new employee information within specified timeframes.
• Latex allergies are acceptable but must be disclosed at orientation and to the manager.
• No PAPR testing for failed fit tests; failure disqualifies from caring for TB isolation patients.
• Facility does not require annual TB updates but requires TB test if current test expires during contract.
• Flu shots are available onsite weekly from September to October.

This position offers a structured day shift schedule with a 13-week travel contract in a surgical services setting, requiring solid experience and compliance with state and facility-specific credentialing and health requirements.
