Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health

Location

  • Hinesville, Georgia
  • Coverage area includes Long, Liberty, and Bryan counties
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic
  • Daily travel expected: 30-60 miles

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours)
  • Once a month weekend rotation required (on-call/on weekend varies by location)

Job Description

  • Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies
  • Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses
  • Patient load: 5-8 patients per day, including start of care, wound care, and follow-up visits
  • Visits occur in patients' homes and care facilities
  • Documentation and charting using HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS systems
  • Reliable transportation and current driver's license required
  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate (patient home to patient home; commute to/from first and last patient not reimbursed)

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license valid and in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Minimum 1 full year of recent Adult Home Health or Hospice nursing experience (whichever specialty applies)
  • CPR and BLS certification current and valid (AHA, National CPR Foundation, or ARC accepted)
  • Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS charting systems within the last 6 months; retraining required if last use was over 6 months ago
  • Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance
  • First-time travelers not accepted; recent specialty experience required
  • Two professional references required
  • Work history verification for at least the last 7 years or two most recent employers

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, confirming good health and no communicable diseases
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually (no pending results at start)
  • Immunization or titer proof for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and COVID-19 (or documented declination)
  • 10-panel drug screen required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required
  • Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific screenings as applicable
  • Fingerprinting required based on state regulations
  • Completion and signing of various compliance documents prior to start, including but not limited to:
    • Confidentiality and privacy policies
    • HIPAA and healthcare compliance laws
    • Home Health core policies and scenarios
    • Code of conduct and employee responsibility agreements
    • COVID-19 policy and attestation
  • Personal or auto insurance policy required, must be current and under candidate’s name or list candidate as a driver

Notes

  • No guaranteed hours; if patient census is low, floating to nearby clinics may be arranged
  • Dress code: Scrubs
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • On-call and weekend requirements vary by location; discuss during interview

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with recent home health or hospice experience who are comfortable with travel and working independently in patients' homes and care facilities.
