Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a level two trauma, tertiary medical center with a large endoscopy department.
- Patient population includes ambulatory and hospitalized patients of all ages (pediatrics to geriatric) with complex GI diseases.
- Unit mix: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient, 10% pediatrics.
- Department includes 19 admit/discharge rooms, 9 procedure rooms, and a manometry room.
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM).
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- Float required: Must be willing to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Endoscopy/GI Lab.
- Preferred experience with moderate sedation and technical endoscopy procedures.
- Advanced therapeutic Endoscopy RN experience preferred.
- First-time travelers accepted.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Compact license holders are honored at this facility.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B – vaccination series or signed declination.
- Tdap – within 10 years or declination.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable with attestation.
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and others as applicable.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
Additional Requirements
- Must complete Providence system and specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules annually.
- Must complete medication and competency exams as applicable.
- Must complete float policy acknowledgment.
- Photo for badge not required for this specific facility.
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses must complete demographic attestation prior to assignment start.
Prior Travel Experience
- Not required for this position.
Notes
- Travel candidates separated from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) for at least 3 months are eligible.
- Active compact license holders are accepted at all Swedish facilities.
- If return to office (RTO) is greater than 4 days, manager approval is required.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized Endoscopy unit with a diverse patient population and advanced procedural care in a reputable tertiary medical center.
