Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Coxsackie, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract (Per Diem/Part Time)
Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours per day)
Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks

Job Description

• Provide assessment and treatment for individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
• Plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs.
• Recommend and assist in obtaining additional necessary services.
• May perform special education assessments and present findings to a Committee on Special Education.
• May select and recommend alternative communication systems and teach their use.
• May conduct research related to speech and language problems and present results.

Required Qualifications

• Valid degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current New York State licensure for Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Background check and fingerprinting required prior to starting work.
• Must submit a current resume with the bid.
• Two professional references required.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 12 months prior to start.
• Annual Tuberculosis Questionnaire completion required.
• Vaccination documentation or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination for 2025-26.
• COVID-19 vaccine booster preferred but not required.
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 1 year of start date.
• Fit mask testing will be completed onsite on the first day.

Background and Security Checks

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required; fingerprinting completed onsite at orientation.
• Background check includes Social Security trace, county searches, nationwide search, and sex offender registry.
• Fingerprinting requirements updated effective 7/10/2025; documentation must be uploaded to state requirements.

• This is a per diem position; work is scheduled as needed.
