Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Overview
- Position in a Pre-Screen Unit; clinical fit determined by clinical review and manager interview.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
- Weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
- No call or floating requirements.
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance and Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized before starting.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Childline) required within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending if proof of processing is provided, but results must be on file within 45 days.
- Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending if appointment receipt is provided, but results must be on file within 45 days.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
- Employment application and most recent resume required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
- Performance evaluations completed onsite by unit managers during assignment (not required before start).
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted). For positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Vaccination or positive titer documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles) - 2 doses or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Mumps - 2 doses or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Rubella - 2 doses or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Varicella - 2 doses or positive titer; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B - Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season; declinations not accepted.
- COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted.
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start and renewed annually.
- Fit testing preferred but not required.
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (requirement for agency only, not employer).
Competency and Testing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health; remediation and second attempt process in place if needed.
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Clear, professional, passport-style photo for badge.
- Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
- Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form.
- Commitment to Health & Wellness.
- Code of Conduct.
- Confidentiality Agreement.
- Non-Employee Affidavit.
- I9 Attestation and Documentation Attestation (agency completed).
- Hepatitis B declination form if applicable.
- Vehicle registration form (if applicable).
- Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start; accessible via PC/laptop only.
- New hire orientation required by end of first day.
