Histology Tech - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Melbourne, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Laboratory (Histology Tech)
• Shift Hours: 07:30-16:00 or 09:30-18:00 (Day shift, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
• No on-call required
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Weekend work not required
• Block schedule accommodation TBD based on unit needs
• Locals accepted at same rate as travelers
• Contracted hours guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Histology Technologist license in Florida
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Histology Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ASCP-HT certification required
• Florida State License required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including international searches
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 90 days of start
• Monthly HHS/OIG checks required
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Education verification required; candidates from certain disqualified institutions will not be accepted
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (valid for 5 years once on file)
• Fit mask test required within 12 months prior to start (specific mask types required; must be fully shaven)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start (or two negative PPDs with specified timing)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Required immunization titers within 5 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA Instructor or Provider (RQI accepted)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA Instructor or Provider (RQI accepted)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (check unit description)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Clear, passport-style photo with white background for badge
• Completion of facility-specific documents including Job Description Acknowledgement, Confidentiality Agreement, iCARE Values, and Badge Form
• Flu exemption forms must be submitted by Monday prior to start if applicable
• Auto insurance required if working in Home Health (not applicable for this role)
• Radiation badge monitoring form required only for certain departments (not applicable for Histology Tech)

Notes

• Candidates must submit finalized Return to Office (RTO) details with application; RTO changes not accepted after offer
• All labs and immunization records once on file are valid for 5 years
• Color blind testing online required for MLTs (not specifically stated for Histology Tech)
