MRI Technologist - Albany, Georgia

Job Details

• Contract Length: 17 weeks
• Shift: Nights (generally 4 shifts of 10 hours each, 8:00 PM to 5:30 AM)
• Average Scans per Day: Approximately 30 due to long protocols
• Workload: High volume of inpatients (10-14 per day) and outpatients (4-8 per day on weekends)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Weekends only if scheduled; holidays if on rotation
• Call/Standby: No mandatory call, but volunteering possible if short staffed
• Orientation: 1-2 weeks of unit/department-specific orientation

Job Description

• Perform musculoskeletal, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvis, radiation oncology, and breast imaging studies
• Care for pacemaker and anesthesia patients, as well as ICU and NICU patients
• Use Siemens scanners primarily; Philips scanner will be added soon
• Department has 4 scanners total; agency staffs 2 scanners including a mobile unit
• No floating or covering other areas required
• Radiologists are in-house during the day (mostly interventional radiology); majority of MRI readings are done remotely
• Full-time radiology supervisor available; senior tech scheduled if no lead tech present
• Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs) will be hired soon

Required Qualifications

• Certified MRI Technologist (ARRT MR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience (travel experience preferred but not required)
• Experience with Siemens scanners required; Philips experience preferred
• Ability to start IVs required
• Must comply with a strict 75-mile radius travel rule from the address on the driver's license to the facility

Work Environment and Dress Code

• Black scrubs with black or gray jacket; no fleece allowed
• Black or gray undershirt permitted under scrubs
