Respiratory Therapist Travel Assignment - Boise, Idaho
Job Details
- Location: Boise, Idaho
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours: 12 hours per shift, approximately 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Required to work if scheduled during holidays
- Call Requirement: No call or standby call
- Floating: May float to nearby medical centers in Meridian and Nampa
- Orientation: Typically 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation depending on areas covered (Adult floor, Pediatrics, NICU, Adult ICU)
- Dress Code: Any clean and professional scrub color
Patient Population & Unit Coverage
- Adult patients on all floors
- Pediatric patients (Peds)
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Level III
- Respiratory Therapists for Pediatric floors also cover adults; Adult floor RTs do not cover Pediatrics
- Inpatient care only
Equipment & Procedures
- Ventilators: Draeger (adults), Servo U (pediatrics)
- Other equipment: V60 BiPAPs, Vapotherm high flow, Optiflow (NICU/PICU), Philips Cough Assist, ResMed home CPAP, HillRom Vest and Metaneb machines
- Manage all respiratory therapy equipment, treatments, transport, and arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- No EKG responsibilities
- Assist with intubations; independent intubation not required
- NICU coverage requires knowledge of NAVA (Naturally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist) on Servo ventilators
Required Certifications
- Adults: BLS, ACLS
- Pediatrics: BLS, PALS
- NICU: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- RRT certification preferred; CRT accepted with experience
Experience Requirements
- RRT: Minimum 2-3 years of experience
- CRT: Minimum 3-5 years of experience
- First-time travelers are acceptable
- NICU experience required if covering NICU patients
Staffing & Support
- Lead Respiratory Therapist on each shift covering Emergency Department, daily staffing, and acting as a resource
- Manager and Supervisor available during daytime hours
- Typically 15-20 RTs on day shifts and 10-12 on night shifts; traveler will not be the only RT in-house
- Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage 24/7
Note: Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this assignment.
