Behavioral Health Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Louisville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 - 7:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:12
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
• Float Required
• EMR System: Cerner eCare
• Medication Documentation: Omnicell
• Holiday Time Off: No time off during specified holidays; requests may be addressed onsite after assignment start

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Tennessee (Compact or Single State)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in acute inpatient nursing
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - must be current and uploaded as actual certificate (no photos/screenshots)
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required for all RN candidates
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), CBHS, MAB certifications preferred but not required
• Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher; not required for Mother-Baby, L&D, Psych, LTC, Transitional Care)
  • Core Competency Exams Parts I, II, and III (minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually)
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test or equivalent within 12 months)

Health and Background Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start date and updated annually; includes 7-year SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, abuse registry, and federal/statewide searches
• Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA confirming fitness for duty
• TB Test: Negative QGold or Skin Test within 1 year; chest X-ray if prior positive TB
• Drug Testing: Within 45 days of start, includes a comprehensive panel with MRO signature
• Immunizations:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B - vaccine series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Flu Vaccine - required for starts on/after 9/8/2025; exemptions only for approved medical or religious reasons
• Additional Health Documents: TB Questionnaire, Flu Vaccine Exemption Attestation (if applicable)

Documentation and Onboarding

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (color and current)
• I9 form required
• Photo for badge (passport style, solid background, no filters or facial piercings)
• Employment application with 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days, and active nursing license details
• 2 supervisory references from past 3 years
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated within the last year
• Background Check Alias Name Attestation if applicable
• Onboarding attestation and review of facility-specific onboarding documents

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Auto offer with bi-weekly orientations available
• Time off requests during holidays will generally not be accommodated
• Must upload actual certificates for all required certifications; photos or screenshots are not accepted
• Background checks must include verified alias names if applicable
