Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: Portland, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Position floats between units as needed.
  • Schedule includes every other weekend; no on-call or block schedules required.
  • Patient ratio approximately 20:1.
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
  • Must have a vehicle for assignment and be flexible to float to other units and nearby facilities within reasonable distance.
  • Floating to certain locations may include additional incentives and accommodations.
  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care hospital.
  • Charting system: Epic.
  • Parking: No fee.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 3 years of recent acute care case management experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Care Manager experience

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete required WorkRamp modules prior to start and annually thereafter, including:
    • System-level regulatory modules.
    • Specialty-specific modules for case management and acute care.
    • Regional and facility-specific training modules as applicable.
  • Must complete Epic training modules as assigned.
  • Must complete medication and competency exams as applicable.
  • Float Policy Acknowledgement required.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Floating between multiple units and facilities within the region is expected to meet staffing needs.
  • Variable schedule to support vacation and PTO utilization.
  • No 48-hour shifts approved.
  • Professional appearance: scrubs of any color allowed; specific units may have additional dress code requirements.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse Case Manager with at least 3 years of recent acute care hospital care management or discharge planning experience. The role requires flexibility to float between units and nearby facilities, weekend work every other weekend, and completion of various certifications, background checks, health screenings, and training modules. The position is day shift with a 40-hour workweek and uses Epic for charting.
