Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in a fast-paced, high acuity Level 3 Cardiac Cath Lab performing advanced cardiac cath and peripheral angiography, electrophysiologic studies, therapeutic interventional procedures, and cardiac device implantation.
- Provide peri-procedural care and education to patients.
- Assist cardiologists and specialists with diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Manage documentation and records for procedures.
- Patient volume averages approximately 20 patients per day across two EP labs and five cath labs.
- Procedures include structural heart interventions such as Watchman, TAVR, and MitraClips.
Schedule
- Day shift: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (4 days a week, 10-hour shifts)
- On-call: Once weekly (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and every 4th weekend (7:00 AM Saturday – 7:00 AM Monday)
- Potential for one 24-hour holiday on-call
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Experience
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience, including use of EPIC and MacLab systems.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, national/state/county checks, and sex offender registry.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Fingerprinting not required for this position.
- Education verification required if applicable (not applicable for RN).
- I-9, E-Verify, and government-issued photo ID required.
- Proof of name change documentation if applicable.
- Completion of facility-specific annual health questionnaire and candidate agreement prior to start.
- Medical questionnaire for respiratory protection must be submitted prior to orientation.
Immunizations and Health Documentation
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, immune titer, or declination required (not required for subcontractors).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray; if past positive TB, must provide clear chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination preferred for mother/baby units (not applicable here).
