Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab (Travel)

Shift

• Days: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Patient Population

• Cardiac catheterizations
• Peripheral procedures
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Cardiac devices

Job Summary

• Independently provides routine and complex nursing care in a cardiac cath lab setting.
• Demonstrates clinical awareness and manages contingencies.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers.
• Provides care consistent with nursing standards and competencies.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Weekend requirement: every third or fourth weekend
• On-call requirement: yes, scheduled collaboratively with staff

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

• 1 patient per 4 staff members (2 nurses and 2 techs)

Dress Code

• Galaxy blue uniform

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification
