Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Crossville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
- Float required
- On-call requirements:
- At least 15 weekdays per month (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- 48-hour call every other weekend and as needed
- Holidays on-call as needed; time off requests during holidays generally not accommodated
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified, actual certificate required (no photos/screenshots), must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified, actual certificate required, must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
- Either ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required
- State license verification must be current and valid, with renewal uploaded 5 days prior to expiration
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Certification in either ARRT (R) or RCIS
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Background check: Must be completed within 45 days of start and updated annually
- Includes 7-year SSN trace with complete address history, alias verification, national and state sex offender registries, criminal searches, and abuse registries
- Alias Name Attestation required if any alias names appear on background check
- Drug testing: Required within 45 days of start, includes a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, opiates, etc.) with MRO signature
- Physical exam: Within 12 months of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA confirming fitness for duty
- Immunizations and health documentation:
- Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year; chest x-ray if prior positive
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine required for starts on/after 9/8/2025 (no declinations accepted; exemptions require documentation)
- Photo for badge: Passport-style photo with solid background, no filters or facial piercings
- Utility bill or lease/mortgage statement in candidate’s name with address >75 miles from contracted facility
- Employment application: 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days, active nursing license(s) listed with expiration dates
- References: Two supervisory references from employers within the last 3 years
- Skills checklist: Unit-specific, updated within the last year
Competency Exams & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
- Competency Exam (required)
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test or equivalent within 12 months, 100% score required)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for all RNs, minimum 80% score)
- Core Competency Parts I, II, III (required annually, minimum 80% pass rate)
Additional Notes
- Travelers requesting time off during specified holidays will generally not be accommodated; exceptions may be addressed onsite with management
- Actual certificates required for all certifications; screenshots or photos are not accepted
- Background checks must be run under the specified package and include verified alias names
- All documentation must have matching candidate information (DOB, SSN) and be dated/signed appropriately
This position requires a highly compliant and flexible Cath Lab Tech with certifications in BLS, ACLS, and either ARRT (R) or RCIS, able to work day shifts with significant on-call responsibilities. Candidates must be prepared for thorough onboarding and documentation requirements.
