Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Unit focus: Oncology with a high volume of telemetry patients
- Responsibilities include management of drips and cardiac rhythms
- Strong telemetry experience preferred; candidates without telemetry experience must have strong Medical-Surgical (MedSurg) skills
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Charting system: Cerner
- Scrub color: Royal Blue top with White or Royal Blue bottom
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility (no locals accepted)
- First-time travelers are accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Background check covering the last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required prior to start
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
- TB testing: Negative 2-step PPD or Q-gold within 1 year; T-spot tests not accepted; if positive PPD, must have chest x-ray within past 12 months
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Flu vaccine required prior to start or approved medical/religious exemption; documentation must be on file by December 15
- COVID vaccine required unless a signed medical or religious exemption is submitted
Additional Requirements
- On-site EKG exam covering cardiac conduction system, dysrhythmia identification, and wave labeling
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement and photo for badge
- Completion of facility-required online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) prior to start
- Fit mask test preferred (if not available, note will be made and requirement may be waived)

- Prior travel experience is not required
- Employment application required for all candidates
- Candidates must be prepared for night shifts and the physical demands of telemetry and oncology nursing
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with telemetry and/or strong MedSurg experience seeking a travel contract in Indiana with night shifts and oncology patient care focus.
