Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work on a Stepdown unit with potential to float to similar patient care units including Emergency Department.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). Shift rotation possible based on hospital needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year.
• Current certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Orientation and Compliance

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory. Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video content must be watched before testing.
• Baseline competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation with minimum passing scores (SafeMedicate 90%, ECG 80%). Retakes and remediation provided if needed.
• Must submit references from recent employment (2 references from manager/supervisor within 1 year).
• Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care in a similar area.
• Annual skills checklist required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
• Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams.
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification.
• Travel experience is not explicitly required beyond specialty experience.
