Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Circulating nurse experience/skill
• Conscious sedation skills

Clinical Focus & Procedures

• Patient Diagnoses: Coronary Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Valvular Disease, STEMI/NSTEMI, Unstable Angina
• Procedures: Cardiac Catheterization, High Risk PCI, Peripheral Interventions, Carotid Stents, Research, Workup for TAVR/Mitraclip
• Equipment Experience: Impella, Shockwave, Rotoblator, CSI, IABP, Laser

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• Standard background check within 1 year including 7 years of residence/work/school history
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (transcript/diploma for international education with foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable)
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)

Health & Immunization

• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive TB
• Annual TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required (masking required if declined)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 9-panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
• Respirator medical clearance annually if respirator use is required

Competency Exams & Training

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥80%) as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with 100% lethal arrhythmia score required for Cath Lab and related units
• Color Blindness test (Relias) prior to start
• Stroke education CEUs and NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if applicable (behavioral health/psych units)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (professional, clear, solid background) required prior to start
• Dress code and tobacco policy acknowledgment required
• Completion of online account registration and mandatory training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
• Fit mask acknowledgment required

References & History

• Two professional references from the past 2 years required
• Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and available for review

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs who meet the licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable with on-call duties and specialized cardiac procedures in a fast-paced acute care teaching hospital environment.
