ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Indiana, Muncie

Position Details

• Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Muncie, Indiana
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Contract Length: 14 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Important Notes

• Perioperative/OR RNs, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from the Indiana RN restriction effective 11/30/2024; ICU RNs are not exempt.
• Valid Driver’s License or Passport required (clear copy).
• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and education verification required within specified timeframes.
• Physical exam and fit mask test (N95 or approved respirators) must be current within 12 months.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titers or 2 vaccinations required (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (no declinations accepted)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months required (instant tests not accepted).
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology test required.
• Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment required.
• Skills checklist and employment application with full work history and gap explanations required.

Additional Compliance & Documentation

• Completion of facility-specific forms and orientation packets prior to start is mandatory.
• Background checks must include 7 years of residence/work history and international searches if applicable.
• License verification must be done online through primary source within 30 days before start.
• Fit testing documentation must include respirator make, model, size, and date. On-site fit testing is limited and must be approved.
• TB questionnaire must be updated annually.
• Color blindness testing (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score required.

Summary

This ICU RN travel assignment in Indiana requires a minimum of 3 years ICU experience, an active Indiana RN license, and current ACLS and BLS certifications. The position is night shift with a 1:2 patient ratio and a 14-week contract length. Compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory. First-time travelers are welcome, but local candidates are not accepted. Weekend shifts are required every third weekend.
