Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Night Shift

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 48 hours


Job Description

  • Position requires working night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage every other weekend.
  • Floating within scope to similar units as needed.
  • Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients in ICU settings.
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
  • On-call is not required.
  • No block scheduling accommodations.
  • Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted.
  • Return-to-Work (RTO) restrictions: maximum 4 days off allowed during assignment, no holidays off.
  • Staff call-outs require makeup shifts as deemed necessary by the department.
  • Facility has a policy limiting travelers to 2 contracts (one extension allowed), then a 6-month break before returning.
  • Must comply with a return staff policy requiring a 1-year absence before returning as a traveler.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Additional Requirements

  • Background check within 6 months of start (including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable).
  • Completion of facility-specific documents prior to start, including but not limited to:
    • Photo for badge (passport-style, professional)
    • Emergency contact form
    • Confidentiality and information agreement
    • Patient identification agreement
    • Conflict of interest questionnaire
    • Staff call out acknowledgement
    • Corporate code of conduct acknowledgement
    • Policy tech access acknowledgement
    • Professional appearance acknowledgement
    • Parking registration (if driving)
    • Computer use acknowledgement
  • Completion of facility orientation and modules prior to start.
  • Must review and sign Respiratory Therapist job description.
  • Must comply with facility’s professional appearance and conduct standards.

Notes

  • Candidates must be comfortable working with both pediatric and adult ICU patients.
  • Floating between like units is required.
  • No pending licenses accepted.
  • Candidates must meet all certification renewal requirements prior to start.
  • Flu vaccine declinations are not accepted unless supported by approved medical or religious exemption forms specific to the facility.
  • Exemptions for COVID-19 and flu vaccines require facility approval and supporting documentation.
  • Candidates must be prepared for a rigorous competency and pass/fail testing process with remediation steps.
