Description
Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Temporary Position
Location: Harrisonville, Missouri
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 8
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
- Develop and adjust individualized plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
- Assess patient progress and modify treatments accordingly; evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
- Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in the electronic documentation system.
- Record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
- Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
- Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Adhere to ASHA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience (New graduates accepted if Level II experience is completed, not just Level I observation).
- Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings is required.
- Active Missouri State License.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience holding active CCS certification.
- One professional reference required at time of submission.
Additional Information
- Typical treatment times for SLP are approximately 30 minutes per session.
- Caseload may range from 10 to 14 patients per day depending on the number of evaluations.
- Group therapy is allowed and encouraged to help with productivity.
- Each therapist typically has a dedicated device for documentation.
- Productivity expectations: 88-90% for evaluating therapists.
- Overtime pay applies after 8 hours per day.
