Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position floats between units within Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)/Step Down.
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).
  • Weekend work required: 6 shifts per schedule period.
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients.
  • 48-hour shifts approved.
  • Dress code: Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel.
  • Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Intermediate/Stepdown nursing within the last year.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card.
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • E-Verify attestation.
  • Education verification for nursing degree (required especially for international education).
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months; instant tests acceptable with attestation.
  • Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.

References & Employment History

  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates.
  • Skills checklist updated annually as applicable.

Additional Requirements

  • Float Policy Acknowledgement: Candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
  • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules (annual regulatory and specialty-specific training) prior to start and annually thereafter.
  • Epic training modules completion may be required depending on region and facility.

Work Environment

  • Short Term Acute Care facility with 379 staffed beds.
  • Level II Trauma Center.
  • No on-call required.
