Description
Ultrasound Tech - General (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lillington, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Evenings, Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
- Call: Required, approximately every 9th weekend (Friday 11 PM – Monday 7 AM) covering two locations
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Floating: No floating to sister facilities
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50-mile radius
- Pending State License: Not accepted
- Maximum consecutive days off: No more than 6 days off in a row
- Facility Type: Short-term acute care hospital, Level III Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Navy or Khaki
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
Job Responsibilities / Scope
- Perform limited exams including:
- Rule out ectopic pregnancy
- Rule out testicular torsion
- Rule out ovarian torsion
Background and Health Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (specific substances listed)
- TB Screening: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual renewal required
- Vaccinations / Titers:
- TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative or equivocal)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative or equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption (exemptions must be approved by facility)
- COVID-19 Vaccines: Not required but accepted if available
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Must complete and sign various facility documents prior to start, including but not limited to:
- Confidentiality and Information Agreement
- Patient Identification Agreement
- Conflict of Interest Questionnaire
- Staff Call Out Acknowledgement
- Corporate Code of Conduct Acknowledgement
- Policy Tech Access Acknowledgement
- Professional Appearance Acknowledgment
- Emergency Contact Form
- Agency Personnel Form
- Parking Registration (if driving)
- Submit a professional passport-style photo for badge issuance (no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless for religious reasons)
- Complete required orientation and modules prior to start (modules due the Monday before start date)
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Candidate must be prepared for call shifts and weekend coverage as specified
- Strict adherence to certification expiration and renewal policies is mandatory; certifications expiring the month of start must be renewed prior to start
This position offers a structured evening schedule with call responsibilities in a Level III Trauma Center environment, suitable for Ultrasound Technologists with at least 2 years of experience seeking a travel contract opportunity.
