Description

Physical Therapist (Inpatient Rehab) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lancaster, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapist)
  • Setting: Inpatient Hospital
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (negotiable)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)
  • Weekend Requirement: One weekend per month
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, must float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units/sister facilities

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Background Checks:
    • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Searches include SSN Trace, SC Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education Verification: Not required for this facility
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment Application: Complete application or resume required
  • Work History Verification: Not required for this facility

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Initial physical exam within one year attesting ability to meet physical demands of position
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form required
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
  • TB Testing: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; if positive, follow-up chest x-ray and annual questionnaire required
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; no instant tests accepted
  • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (August 1 – March 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations; documentation must be uploaded by December 5 deadline
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or a declination form completed

Certifications and Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Required, AHA or American Red Cross accepted
  • Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Orientation: Completion of assigned modules (approx. 2 hours) prior to start; failure to complete results in being sent home
  • Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style headshot required
  • Acknowledgments and Agreements: Candidates must review and sign various facility documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreements, Safety Codes, and Orientation Acknowledgement prior to start
  • Parking Permit: Must be completed prior to start

  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
  • Local Radius: 60 miles; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Hurricane Season: Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams from June through November; peak activity in August and September
