ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:45 - 07:15)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with floating to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) within scope
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Start Date: Biweekly starts, 3-4 weeks per compliance tier
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week for 3 shifts of 12 hours
- Responsibilities include assisting with line insertion, intubation, hypothermia protocols, CRRT/CVVHD, and IABP
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Illinois fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing required annually (N95 models specified)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with yearly questionnaire)
- Tdap vaccine or declination (10-year expiration)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination (with unit-specific exemptions)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)
- Required facility-specific documents include HIPAA acknowledgement, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education (annual updates)
- Employment application and professional references required (two professional references preferred within last year)
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required annually
Additional Notes
- Locals within 75 miles radius are not accepted
- No on-call requirement
- No block scheduling accommodation
- Return-to-Office restrictions: 7 days within 13-week contract
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Candidates must adhere to facility policies or risk removal from shifts
