Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Hays, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
• Option for 4 ten-hour shifts if Electrophysiology (EP) experience is available

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Kansas
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required for all units
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but are not specified for this role

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Social Security Number verification (do not send actual card)
• E-Verify proof or attestation
• Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, and other standard screenings updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
• State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification (for RNs, applicable here for license verification)
• Drug testing: Negative 13-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Immunizations/vaccinations or documented exemptions required for:

  • Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Influenza seasonal vaccination or approved exemption (required seasonally)
• Negative TB test (Quantiferon Gold preferred) within 1 year, updated annually; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 2 years and annual TB questionnaire required
• Facility-specific vaccination declination and TB questionnaire forms required prior to start
• Respirator clearance required prior to start (RespSafety virtual questionnaire reviewed by licensed healthcare professional)

Orientation and Onboarding

• Orientation held on-site, business casual attire recommended (scrubs allowed if required for position)
• Orientation includes photo badge, facility policies, and competency testing
• Pass/fail testing on EKG/medications and other nursing competencies required within first 2 weeks
• Acknowledgement of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required

References and Employment History

• Two professional references required within 2 years for travel positions
• Complete employment application/resume required
• Performance evaluations required if previously employed with the facility over 1 year
• Skills checklist must be updated annually if applicable
