Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Work with diagnostic X-Ray equipment including C-arm and portable machines (O-arm experience preferred).
- Equipment brands include Philips, Siemens, and GE.
- Black scrubs required.
- Charting performed in EPIC.
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend required; may be scheduled every other weekend based on unit needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technician license in New Jersey.
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT (R) certification required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA, RQI, or instructor cards accepted).
- Experience with C-arm and portable X-Ray equipment required.
- X-Ray Technician experience required.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start.
- Must include all aliases and locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Pending background checks require signed attestation at start.
- Drug Screen: Negative 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines.
- Required immunizations and titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
- Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
- Fit Testing & Respirator Clearance:
- Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit test required prior to start; must be updated annually.
- Facial hair must be clean-shaven unless approved accommodation is provided.
- Color Blind Testing: Required within one year if job tasks require color discrimination.
- References: Two references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
- Employment History: Resume or application with 7 years of work history required; New Jersey candidates require verification of at least 1 year prior to start with no gaps over 30 days.
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Complete competency exams (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, IV therapy/infusion) within 72 hours of signing.
- Pass/fail testing policies apply; candidates have up to 3 attempts with remediation required after first failure.
- Ongoing CEUs and certifications as applicable.
Scheduling & Policies
- Schedule requests, including time off, must be submitted with application and approved before offer.
- Floating policy must be completed for every new assignment or site transfer.
Additional Notes
- Must complete annual education sign-off and facility-specific training prior to start.
- Must comply with all facility-specific health and safety protocols.
- Black scrubs required on unit.
