Description
MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (either 1:00 PM–9:00 PM or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM depending on unit need)
Equipment Used: Siemens
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Certifications:
- AMRIT
- ARRT (MR) or ARRT (R) (either specialty certification accepted)
- Background check: 7-year history including SS Trace, County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled, Nationwide, and Sex Offender registry
- Licensure: Must hold appropriate MRI Tech license/certification as per Allied Licensure report
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with expanded opiates within 14 days before start (instant tests not accepted). Marijuana positive is not disqualifying.
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
- Immunizations/Vaccinations:
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct–Mar)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (with specific rules for low/equivocal titers)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
- TB Screening: QGold test required within 1 year of start (TSpot/PPD not accepted). Negative chest X-ray within 60 days of start if applicable
- Photo for badge: Passport-style photo required (face forward, no filters)
- References: 2 professional references verified within 2 years of start
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable to specialty
- Additional certifications (if applicable): ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification (not specifically required for MRI Tech)
Additional Requirements
- Compliance checklist and confidentiality statement must be completed prior to start
- Dosimeter request form not required for MRI Tech specialty
- Annual skills checklist required
- Flu vaccine exemption forms must be completed if applicable
Notes
- Prior travel experience is required: first-time travelers are generally not accepted unless experienced at multiple trauma-level facilities
- Evening shifts only, 40 hours per week
- Facility-specific background and health document requirements must be met and updated as specified
This position is suitable for experienced MRI Technologists with the required certifications and licensure, who are comfortable working evening shifts and meeting comprehensive health and compliance requirements.
