Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • On-call: Yes, every 3rd to 4th weekend and 1-2 weekday calls
  • Floating: Yes, may float between service lines (not to sister facilities)
  • Facility Type: Acute Care
  • Total Staffed Beds: 276
  • Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 3 years of CVOR nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Block scheduling may be accommodated with prior approval (not guaranteed)
  • Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks; called-off hours can be combined to equal 1 shift
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are not accepted
  • Travelers should be aware of potential emergency response assignments during hurricane season (June–November, peak in August and September)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start
  • Complete employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
  • Radiation badge process must be completed before starting floor duties; badges may take 5-7 days to arrive
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year work/living history
    • SSN trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, international searches
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold not accepted)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination form
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
  • Respirator clearance: Annual medical clearance required for all patient-facing travelers
  • Facility-specific documents including signed agreements (Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Systems User Agreement, etc.) and photo for badge
  • Orientation modules must be completed prior to start; failure to complete results in being sent home

  • Facility uses Epic for charting
  • Scrubs and parking are provided at no cost
  • Travelers must upload vaccination and flu documentation into the facility’s system prior to start
  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers with experience are accepted
