Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographer Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Location: Decatur, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms, including Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) and Stress echos.
• Day shift with a rotating schedule: 5 days of 8-hour shifts and 4 days of 10-hour shifts, starting between 7:00-8:00 AM.
• Call required every 4-5 weekends and usually one evening/night call per week.
• May float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Work environment includes ICU and ED settings.
• Exposure to anesthesia and nursing students who may shadow occasionally.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications required: ARDMS, RDCS, and BLS.
• Experience working with both adult and pediatric patients.

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Rotating day shifts with a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts.
• Holiday shifts are rotated.
• Call every other or every third weekend plus one weekday call (may vary with vacations/LOAs).
• Locals accepted with no radius restrictions.
• Block schedule requests can be discussed with management.

Licensing & Compliance

• Illinois state license not required for this role.
• Must be physically present in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting (must be done in-state).
• Fingerprinting and Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry results required for clinical candidates without an IL license.
• Background checks required within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• State-specific criminal and offender registry searches required within 30 days of start.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions.
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella).
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30.
