Description
MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- Shift: Weekends, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Saturday & Sunday)
- Call: 1-2 days per week
- Hours per week: 24 hours (2 shifts of 12 hours each)
- Required to respond to call within 3 days or less
- Equipment used: Siemens
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT(R)(MR) or AMRIT certification
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school, including sex offender registry
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (Chest X-Ray within 60 days if applicable)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen with expanded opiates within 14 days before start (instant tests not accepted)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October to March)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no filters)
- Two professional references verified within 2 years of start (for inpatient RNs only, one must be from most recent acute care assignment; note this does not apply to MRI Tech)
Additional Certifications & Competencies (As Applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – not required for CNAs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU, IMC/IMCU, inpatient Med Surg, Step Down RN positions; not applicable here)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (required for dialysis/kidney center candidates only)
- Competency exams as applicable to specialty
Notes
- Dosimeter request form not required for MRI Tech specialty
- Candidates must complete facility-specific compliance and confidentiality documents prior to start
- Prior travel experience is preferred; first-time travelers may be considered only under specific conditions (multiple facilities, trauma level 1 or 2)
- Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments
This position offers a weekend day shift MRI Tech role with a 13-week travel contract in Wisconsin, requiring specific radiology certifications and compliance with detailed health and background screening protocols.
