Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (06:30 - 17:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology (IR) performing cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Procedures include: Interventional Cath, Cardiac Stent Placement, Scrubbing, Right & Left Heart catheterization, Rotablader, Thrombectomy, Stents, PCI, PTCA, Balloon Angioplasty.
• Preferred skills: Cerner, Acute Monitoring, Room Circulator, ACIST, Watchman Procedures, Impella insertion, TAVI/TAVR.
• Call requirement: 1-2 weeknight call shifts (Monday-Friday) and one 24-hour weekend call shift per month.
• Must function effectively in a high-paced, efficient environment and be a team player.
• Scrubs provided.
• Orientation offered weekly.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Maryland.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology Technologist role.
• Proficient in Interventional Cath, Cardiac Stent Placement, Right & Left Heart catheterization, Rotablader, Thrombectomy, Stents, PCI, PTCA, and Balloon Angioplasty procedures.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
  • CCI certification.
  • RCIS or ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification.

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment.
• Education verification for highest degree required by position.
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple substances.
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required.
• Immunization documentation required for:

  • Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function.
• Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date.
• Photo for badge meeting specified criteria (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia competency (for applicable units).
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
• EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements for lethal rhythms (if applicable).
