Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology Tech)
- Patient Population: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Work Setting: 4 procedure rooms, average daily census of 25 cases
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Floating: May be required within the facility and scope of practice
- Call: Responsible for 1 in 4 call rotation; weekends are call only
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT (Registered Radiologic Technologist) – Radiography
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including county, national, sex offender, criminal, and education verifications
- Education Verification: Degree verification required; official transcripts or verified tech certification acceptable if degree verification is pending
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols if previously positive)
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster protocols if needed
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster protocols if needed
- Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Highly recommended but not required
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)
- Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start; instant drug screen acceptable
- References: Two clinical references required
- Skills Checklist: Must be current within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs only)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates; alternative assessment available for blood collection tasks)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry and related specialties; not applicable here but noted for awareness)
- Competency Exam: Required for allied health professionals by the staffing agency

- Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
