Description
Dietitian Travel/Contract Position
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Dietary Services
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Total Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekend work required
- Floating: Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities within scope of practice
- Locals accepted within local radius
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches, with annual updates
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest relevant degree (no pending verifications at start)
- Professional license primary source verification (must be current and valid)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask (N95) testing required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept-April)
- Annual completion of regulatory compliance education and HIPAA acknowledgement
- Required facility-specific documents including confidentiality, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
- Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
Competency Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exams, updated annually
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness testing within 12 months of start
Additional Information
- No on-call required
- Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- No pending license acceptance
- No more than 7 days return-to-office restrictions
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
