Dietitian Travel/Contract Position

Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Dietary Services
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Total Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend work required
• Floating: Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities within scope of practice
• Locals accepted within local radius
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches, with annual updates
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest relevant degree (no pending verifications at start)
• Professional license primary source verification (must be current and valid)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask (N95) testing required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept-April)
• Annual completion of regulatory compliance education and HIPAA acknowledgement
• Required facility-specific documents including confidentiality, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
• Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)

Competency Requirements

• Unit-specific competency exams, updated annually
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Color blindness testing within 12 months of start

Additional Information

• No on-call required
• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• No pending license acceptance
• No more than 7 days return-to-office restrictions
• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

• Candidates must adhere to all facility policies and complete all required training modules prior to start
• Floating assignments may require flexibility within the facility system
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
