Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Valentine, Nebraska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Significant evening on-call coverage, averaging about one callback per week
• Backup therapist available to assist with call coverage when time off is needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Nebraska
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start; if past positive, a negative chest X-ray within 1 year is required
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (all must be current and updated annually)
• Professional references:

  • 2 for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
  • 1 for per diem non-acute care roles
• Annual competency exams and skills checklist as applicable
