Description

Job Opportunity: RRT (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Chewelah, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Patient Ratio: 1:3
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Block Schedules: Yes
On-Call: No
Floating: May float between units and possibly to another facility about 25 minutes away

  • Scrub Color: Any color for RN/Allied staff

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Washington
  • Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Experience & References

  • Minimum 8 years specialty experience required
  • Prior travel experience is required (explicit travel experience needed)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating between units and possibly to a nearby facility
  • No on-call duties

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state OBRA search)
  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification required (nursing degree or related for RRT)
  • State-specific searches including Washington State Patrol Search within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for certain facility types
  • Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months of start (instant acceptable with attestation)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work
  • Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)

Training & Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Competency exams required per specialty
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Epic charting training modules required

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
  • Float policy acknowledgement (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Skills checklist updated annually (clinical specialties only)

Notes

  • 48-hour approval for shifts is not granted
  • No on-call required
  • Parking is free at the facility
  • Candidate may be required to float to another facility within reasonable distance

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with travel experience seeking a night shift role in a critical access hospital setting with a manageable patient ratio and a supportive work environment.
