Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 days per week, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Work primarily on 3rd shift (night shift) Monday through Thursday.
• Utilize Pyxis medication system.
• Document using EPIC and Phillips VUE PA systems; minimum 1 year experience with EPIC required.
• Patient population includes pediatric emergent cases such as appendicitis, pylorus stenosis, intussusception, torsion, and occasional hip effusion.
• Perform imaging for transplant program patients (kidney, liver, rarely pancreas transplants).
• Conduct NICU neonatal head ultrasounds.
• Occasionally perform breast ultrasounds from ER for mastitis or abscess checks.
• Obstetrics imaging primarily first trimester from ER; occasional limited 2nd or 3rd trimester exams for uncertain dates or to rule out ovarian torsion/ectopic pregnancy.
• No ultrasound-guided needle procedures expected; rare paracentesis may be required.
• Equipment used includes GE E10 ultrasound machines, GE Fortis and GE S8 portable units.
• High-level disinfection with Trophon 2 system.
• Scrub color: Hunter Green.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with recent experience within the last year.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ARDMS certification.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience with EPIC documentation system.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC documentation system.
• Must have Pediatric and Transplant ultrasound experience.
• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers with the required specialty experience are welcome.

• Driver’s license required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty.
• Candidates must comply with all background and credentialing requirements prior to start.
• Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation.
• Floating policy applies and must be signed.
• Badge photo must meet strict guidelines (passport style, no shadows, plain background).
• Online modules and testing are mandatory before starting onsite.
• Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced, specialized pediatric and transplant imaging environment.
• Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable.
