Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location

Alexandria, Louisiana

Employment Type

Travel assignment
Contract length: 13 weeks

Shift

Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirement

Unit and Patient Population

Cardiac and Telemetry patients
Not a Stepdown unit
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
Temp-to-perm possibility

Job Summary

Provides routine and complex nursing care independently in a similar clinical setting
Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitors effectiveness and side effects
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
