Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technologist - General
Location
- Mountain Home, Arkansas
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
- On-call rotation: 2 days per week and every other weekend
- Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes
Job Summary
- Provide quality ultrasound imaging to assist in patient diagnosis and care
- Support Radiologists during exams
- Work performed in hospital setting including department, surgery, emergency department, and patient floors
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an Ultrasound or Sonography program
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Certifications: ARDMS and ARRT
- Must hold a valid Arkansas state license for Ultrasound Technologist
- Primary source verification required (original transcripts and Arkansas Department of Health verification)
Physical Demands
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Must have keen hearing and visual acuity
- Ability to handle critical and highly stressful situations with composure
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Social Security card copy required
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 7-year background check required within 6 months of start; annual updates required for direct candidates
- Additional background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, state-specific criminal history, and education verification required within 30 days of start
Certifications and Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA approved (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA approved (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification) as applicable
- Competency exams required within 1 year of start
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required and updated annually
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation required; exemptions or declinations must be communicated to credentialing
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 30 days of start; must have plan for completion within 72 hours of contract signing
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Review and comply with personal appearance and dress code policies prior to start
- Complete new employee and contract personnel pre-screening compliance checklist
- Complete TB questionnaire regardless of TB test result
- Complete required facility-specific forms including confidentiality, code of conduct, information security, and orientation documents prior to start
References and Work History
- Two professional references required within 2 years (acceptable up to 3 years)
- Work history verification required for the past 2 years
- Resume or employment application copy required
- Skills checklist required and updated annually
